More March Updates

Well this past week has had a few new addtions. We got a new roommate for a couple of weeks in our room. Her name is Lisa and she is from Germany. She has been with All Nations for about 8 months now and will be heading back in about a week. She's really nice and has helped All NAtions out alot. She is studing to be an english teahcer in Germany and her University has a program that allows her to travel and count it as class hours. She and I have been jogging every moning which helps get me out of bed:) I will be sad to see her go, I'll have to recruit someone else for my 7am jog.
Our next addition to our room is Jasper. He is a stray kitten that Floyd found hanging around the property. Floyd pays for his food and flea treatments. He thought he would be a useful asset to the Africa House becasue we have been having a hard time with mice. We named one of the mice Bob, he's been with us the longest and is very good at getting away from us when we try to shew him out/ chop his little head off. So, I was asked to take responsibility for Jasper and feed him. He sleeps in my room with me and everyone loves him. he is a really  good natured cat and loves everyone. He is very smart and has figured out he can climb in and out of our bedroom window to use the potty as needed. No need for a liter box and that's how I like it.  He has successfully caught 2 lizards and a couple of bugs. I think he will work up to Bob. He's still little and learning.

In class this week we continued our study on Acts, we went into chapters 15, 16, & 17. We also talked about Paul's values and then our own personal values. It's been a really good class time this week. I always enjoy class and wish we had at leat one more day of it. We also had a class on farming. Sounds odd I know but there are alot of people that will be going into ministry in places where knowing how to farm is a good way to open up relationships with people. It was a very intersting class, they have a completly different philosophy on farming then the norm and from what we learned it works really well. Here is a website about it. I prob wouldn't do it justice to try and explain. http://www.foundationsforfarming.org/ Give it a once over it's pretty interesting.

I don't really have any new updates on outreach except where we are going will be announced this week. I hope I got Zambia but it isn't set in stone and we were asked to be flexible. Everyone pray!!!!

In Masi this week we had a Bible study with a group of teenage girls. There is 5 of them and they are all friends. They crack me up and have great senses of humor. There is one girl in particular that is very interested in knowing how to study the Bible. Her name is Anna (not her real name) and she is 14 and pregrant. She is always happy when we see her and when we go she gathers her friends in her house where we meet. They have great quesitons and I can tell there is more they want to ask. Please pray that they will continue meeting as a group with us and that Anna will continue to have the desire to learn about God that she has now. They all have family issues of drunkeness and no jobs so if God puts it on your heart, please pray for their families to get jobs.
We also met with a group of women and had a Bible study with them, normally ever Sun. This next Sun we have asked one of the women to take over the Bible study and run it on her own. She is very nervous but willing to try. Please pray that she takes this on and tries whenwe go this Sun. She is the natural leader and will do a great job with a confidence boost.
There is an older woman  we have met that makes pillows and sells them to support her family. As of right now she has the materials and the costumers, she just needes a sewing machine. She is doing everything by hand and she said it's such slow work and it hurts her hands. We have prayed with her and will continue praying that God will provide a sewing machine. She is such a happy woman wiht a great outlook on life. I know this sewing machine will help her family so much.

On Sun there was a bike race called the Argus. It's one of the biggest bike races in the world I think. We heard that people come from all over the world to do this bike race beacause the senary is so beautiful. The roads are closed for most of the day and alot of the shops close for the entire day. The race starts in downtown East Capetown and goes to Cape Point and then up to Chapman's peak and back. It's 109 kilometers which is about 67 miles. Lance Armstrong was in it and finished 9th and we heard roomer that matt Damon was in it but not sure on that. I guess he was last year because he ws here filming Invictus, which sadly I have yet to see. The race come sright by the street we live on, right in front of our house. I went out and watched for a little bit. It starts at 6am and ends at about 2pm. It was quite the event.

Here are some random things from this past week..........
Tonight (Mon) I will cooking dinner for Africa House. I'm cooking Pasta and Chicken with pesto as well as green beans and for desert, watermelon. I'm cooking for 30 people so we will see how this goes.
We've been eating lots of fish lately which has been so good. I am defenetly spoiled though form catching and eating fish right out of the ocean with my dad. I'm not complaing by any means but it is different.
I have the opportunity to help 2 of the families that have preschool aged children at CPx with curriculum for homeschooling. The parents are really excited and so am I. I finally get to use and do something I am good at. We have met once together and will meet a second time this week. It's so much fun for me and it is making me realize how much I miss teaching and having a classroom. Even though I am not teaching their girls, they are I still get to remember all fun activites and curriculum that preschool brings.
So, in the states you just set your clocks back. We don't have daylight saving time here but just for your info. If you live in FL I am now 6 hours ahead of you, not 7.

Prayer requests:
That I can continue getting along with communal living
health (it always helps)
to have joy in going to Masi
that I get to go to Zambia
That I will continue jogging
that I will be attentive to God's voice and not my own

Just thought you would enjoy the beauty of South Africa

I love this picture. It took my breath away to see it in person.

This is my henna I talked about in last weeks blog. It takes 2-3 weeks to come off and I am loving it. I'm seriously thinking of a new tattoo:)

Well, that's all for now, hope everyone enjoys it. If you have questions or want me to enclude anything I'm not, please feel free to email me. Also, if there is someone that wants to be on my email list for my blog, send me their email and I will add them.
Thank you so much to all of you that are and have already given to my financial support. You are not forgotten and you are much appreciated. Thank you also to those of you that are continually praying for me. There is power in prayer and  I am so thankful to you for being faithful.
