So, I leave South Africa knowing that I need to go to the states to fundraise not just for me but for this baby that will be living with me. All costs rest on my shoulders; it’s a heavy weight to carry so I promptly gave it to God :) I was asking God for specific financial miracles while I was in the states, in my mind impossible things that I still have no control over. He gave me this verse the first morning I was in the states while I was praying about how I needed to go about doing everything I needed to do including fundraising to go and live in another country. All of these thoughts were swarming in my head about money and how the heck I was going to do this fundraising thing that I needed to do. He gave me Ephesians 3: 20-21. “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be Glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen!
So God was telling me, these financial miracles that you are asking for that you think are impossible, I’m going to do that and more and I’m going to do it in a way that I get all the glory. And let me tell you He has. I still have those financial miracles, some of them have been answered in part and I am anxiously waiting for God’s perfect timing for Him to continue to answer them.
So, back on track with getting the boy, I get back from the states and I am pumped and so ready to get this baby and start raising him. At this point he is 6 months old and still at the baby home. Normally his stay would only have been for 3 months I think it is but because I was gone and really by a miracle and lots of favor the powers that be (pretty much I don’t know who made this decision, I’m just grateful for it) decide that Jacob could stay in the baby home until the courts release him. Now the saga begins and I just don’t think I have it in me to type the ridiculous sinarios that took place for me to now have this child placed with me. It was 2 months of emotional ups and downs and questions and ………oh man am I glad that’s over. I do know that it was God making us wait on His perfect timing once again and I am now very grateful for His timing and very grateful to get Jacob exactly when I did. I received Jacob on 22nd of Dec, just in time for Christmas (that was an answer to one of my prayers). He was 8 months old when I got to bring him home. He is now 10 months old and has more teeth, is crawling, pulling up, loving finger food, hating baby food, babbling all the time, standing on his own for very short periods, waves bye bye but not on cue of course :), and the best……..when you ask him what a lion says, he growls at you(I taught him that). I’ve worked with a lot of kids and interacted with many babies and I have never, ever seen a baby like this one. He is the happiest baby, very content, very loving, loves people and other kids, very verbal and social, and sleeps like a champ! Two naps a day and typically 10 hour nights with minimal waking up. He loves to travel and only cries when he wants attention or is tired. I am in love with this boy!!! God blessed me with the best baby!
