I was invited to dinner tonight by the couple that is fostering Jacob’s mom. It was really nice to sit down, talk with them and get to know them better. Not going to lie, it was also really nice to eat a dinner I didn’t have to cook or clean up and enjoy a glass of wine while I listened to Jacob squealing and laughing playing with his mom. He crawled over to me a couple times to check in and get a hug and a kiss and then was happily on his merry way. While I was visiting and enjoying my wine, I was encouraged and inspired to write on my blog again. Not just for others which is why I have always kept this blog but for myself so I don’t forget everything that is happening in my life right now. I was encouraged that my story, Jacob’s story, and Jacob’s moms’ story is worth hearing and writing about, if for nothing else than for me to have a record of what is happening in my life. I do hope that people read this and I also hope that it is enjoyed. I probably won’t be writing about ministry or how freakin amazing I think it is to be living in South Africa, that I will save for my newsletters. Also, no promises of when I will update or of pictures, I am busy and don’t need any more pressure to get things done to be put on me especially if the pressure is coming from me More than likely this blog will be about my life as a single foster mom who happens to be a missionary living in South Africa. And warning I am going to be real, I can’t help it, it’s who I am and I don’t have time to pretty it up. I’m going to tell it like it is. I’ll try with spelling and grammar but again, no promises.
So before I start from the beginning, I think some “code names” are in order, so Jacob’s name is out there but he may be referred to as the baby and his mom will be called the teenager, well, cause she is. The teenager’s foster family will be the Smith’s. Mind you the name Smith is so boring but this is no reflection of this family, they are anything but boring , it’s just the easiest name I can think of that I will remember. And as we need more code names you’ll be made aware don’t worry.
So, on to the beginning……………………………
