Let’s tackle the good first………….
Some of you already know but for those of you who don’t, I now will have a flat (apartment) when I arrive in South Africa!! Thank you for praying and believing that God would come through because He did! So as promised, a story of how this all came about………….
A friend of mine, who is living in Cape Town and actually has a flat in the same development, texted me that she has been in contact with her agent to see if there were any flats available. At first, there was nothing but a couple of days later she contacted him again and there was a place available. God even worked out a discount in the rent. Danielle (my roommate) and I will be able to move in Nov 1st. I am so thankful to God for blessing Danielle and I with an awesome flat and also thankful that God used a good friend to get it.
The “bad”…………………..
If you haven’t heard already, I will be delayed in leaving for South Africa. I don’t have enough monthly support raised yet and need to stay in the states until I can raise more. So, as of now, I don’t have a new date when I will be leaving.
I am trusting God to provide because He said he would and I am holding onto that. Its one thing to say God’s timing is perfect, it’s quite another when that statement is applied to your life and your plans. This hasn’t been easy but I know God has a reason for me not going to South Africa right now. My life is completely dependent on God’s timing and provision; it always has been I’m just more aware of it now. The story of God’s provision in my life has always been an amazing one and I know this time I will just be able to add more to that testimony. I’m asking everyone to pray that God will release the money I know He has for me. And hey, if you know of anyone that would be interested in hearing about what I will be doing in South Africa, I would love to speak with them. :)
God has given me a lot of words of confirmation concerning moving to South Africa, working with All Nations, fostering Jacob, and that He will provide. I was praying and asking God for a word of confirmation concerning this situation. This is what He gave me and then confirmed it through a friend of mine.
2 Corinthians 1:20
“For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.”
God has already given me the promise and said the yes. I am saying the amen and praising God for what He will do!

Hi Nicole,
Not sure if you will remember me - my daughter Alison Schuster was in your class about 5? years ago. (blondish, blue eyes, threw up when crying too hard...it was the year when Sarah Bollier was completing her certification. Classmates were Elena, Jacob B. Vincent, Tori M - quite the little rat pack). I know there have been many children through your classes, but I figured I'd try to jog your memory.
Anyway, I have to say, I have no earthly clue what made me look you up today on facebook, other than some work folks talking about teachers of their little ones, etc, and immediately your name came to my mind because you were so great with Ali, and I was wondering if you were still at the CDC. So I found your blog. WOW. You have indeed taken on quite a mission!!!! and I'd be happy to help.
I wish you much good luck and thoughts and prayers as you embark/continue on this path of your life.
I'm looking forward to following your journey with Jacob. I think you are going to be a terrific foster mom.
Best wishes, Vicki Schuster
