SO, I am almost ready to go on my second missions trip. I am going to Cape Town, South Africa for 16 days with a team of 15 people I have never met. I leave July 22nd and fly to NY to meet my team. Then we all fly out to London to re-fuel and then on to South Africa. I am not good at sitting and this trip over and back is going to drive me out of my mind. Not so much looking forward to two days of travel. No amount of books, movies, snacks or sleeping can make it any better. Once we're there I think I am going to be extremely busy but I am just assuming because I don't know much of what we will be doing. I was told to be extremely flexible and that's what I am going to try to be.
God has been so good to me through this whole process of getting ready for the trip. This trip costs $3200. From the time I sent out my donation letter I received all the money in two and half weeks. He also provided me with money for my ticket to NY, my shots, and anything I had to buy for packing. I even have spending money. Also, I was getting nervous about having enough money in my checking acct. to pay my bills while gone. God provided that also. I am set and ready as far as money is concerned. I just had to agree to do what God wanted me to, His will. As soon as I agreed He took over and handled it all. My home, bills, and cat are all being taken care for by great friends and I have nothing to worry about at home. I can completely focus on the trip and what God wants me to learn.
One thing I don't want from this trip is regret. When I went to Costa Rica I had lots of regret when I came home. I felt like I didn't do anything God prompted me too and it still bothers me to think about all the opportunities I passed up. Not this trip, I am going to take advantage of every opportunity I get, talk to every person I can, make as many friends as I can, and share as much of myself as I can. I don't want to sit back and watch and wait. I want to be involved and apart of everything we do and everywhere we go. This is my prayer the entire time I am in Africa. I know God has been preparing me for this and I don't want to disappoint.
